Get to Know Thomas Jefferson's Principal, Trisca Mick...

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!  My name is Trisca Mick, and I am starting my 6th year as the principal of Thomas Jefferson Elementary. This will be my 16th year serving the Newton Community Schools and 26th year in education, overall.  We have wonderful families and staff both at TJ and across the district, and I feel blessed to work with such stellar people day in and day out.  My daughter is entering her senior year of high school this August.  The time with her is flying by so quickly!  The year will certainly be filled with many fun activities and events as we move towards her graduation.  My husband is beginning his 34th year as a teacher of high school history.  As you can see, education is a huge part of my family's lives!  We look forward to the coming year filled with fun, growth, and learning for all our students!  We hope to help each family reach their goals throughout the course of the year.  Our strong partnerships will make a positive difference for our children!
