Welcome to the Newton Community School District!

We are the home of the Newton Cardinals.  Our 450 employees from seven different student attendance centers serve approximately 3,000 students.  The district mission, "The Newton Community School District empowers every learner to achieve a lifetime of personal success" makes it clear we recognize and value each and every one of our students as an individual.

We are extremely proud of our entire Cardinal Community.  "Red Pride Lives Here" is more than a slogan to us - it is a true belief.  We are very proud of our outstanding new $27 million middle school which was made possible through overwhelming support of a general obligation bond.  The Newton Community School District is also home to a Blue Ribbon School recognized by the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program.  We have schools which have been named Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase Schools and have received the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting.  Bill Peters, Newton High School Principal stated "there is just no better place to raise your child than Newton, Iowa."
