Special Education

Special Education Services Information

Special Education, mandated by state and federal laws (IDEA), is specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of children with disabilities. It ensures that every child with a disability has access to a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) that includes the special education and related services they need. IDEA also protects the rights of children and their parents or guardians, and helps state and local districts in providing education that assesses students to ensure effective educational efforts.
