Cardinals,
June is over and that means we are officially stepping into the 2022-2023 school year! With the changing of school years, there is some information which is extremely important to all of our Cardinal families. We have school supply lists, academic, athletic & activity registrations, and back to school events coming up.
The new school supply lists for PreK – 8th Grades are now available. The lists are posted on our district Facebook page (@NewtonCSD), website (www.newtoncsd.org), and will also be available at some local vendors. The lists are the same as last year, but please check them out to be sure you know what school supplies your child(ren) will need for the return to school. High school students will find out from their teacher/course what supplies are needed, once school starts.
We are also still asking for all of our families returning to the Newton Community School District to get their student(s) re-enrollment completed. We are also excited to help our new families throughout the summer register their student(s) with the Newton CSD for the very first time. For re-enrollments, please go to the district website and click on the Infinite Campus Portal Link. From there click on Campus Parent. If you do not know your user name or password, please call our District Office at (641) 792-5809, Option 2 (Central Registrar). For new families, please call the same number and we will set up a time to meet with you to get your student(s) registered into Newton schools.
Registration for 2022-2023 athletics is open through BOUND as of today, July 1, 2022. All athletes must be registered and a current sport physical form uploaded to your account before the first official practice date for each sport. The first official practice date for high school fall sports is August 8, 2022. To get to the registration link, visit the BOUND website at https://manager.varsitybound.com/ia/newton/students. There are directions on what you need to do in order for your student(s) to participate in athletics as a Newton Cardinal.
There will continue to be many more announcements and information communicated out over the next month about our 2022 – 2023 school year. Please stay tuned to the Red Pride Review and keep checking our district Facebook page and website for any updates. Enjoy the rest of your summer and we are looking forward to seeing you on August 23, 2022 for the first day of school!
Yours truly,
Tom Messinger, Superintendent
Newton Community School District
