Cardinals,

Greetings from the Newton Community School District. We are glad that many of you were able to participate in Parent / Teacher conferences recently. The Cardinal staff realizes they were much different than usual, but we always welcome the conversations and the involvement of our parents / guardians. If you were not able to communicate with your student’s teacher it is not too late. Reach out to your school through an email or phone call and stay involved. Student events are occurring all around us. We have had athletic contests, a band & choir concert, Red Ribbon Week events, and conferences. The Cardinal community is very proud of our students and wants everyone to know the great things they are involved in. Check the district calendars regularly to see what our young people are doing.

Yours truly,

Tom Messinger, Superintendent Newton Community School District

It takes a team to run a school district. From our educators to maintenance to board and administrators, hundreds of people play vital roles in ensuring our district runs smoothly. Tim Bloom oversee the business and finance operations for the Newton Community School District. Watch this video for some insight in how he approaches his role and more on how the district is funded.

We are immensely proud of every student that comes through our district. With the disruptions we all faced this year, we present this look back on our graduating class of 2020. Senior Year in high school is a special time for students and this resilient class didn't let the abrupt end of their in-person school days deter them. Watch this special presentation for a message from select students on their appreciation for their classmates and community.

Cardinal Families: The Newton Community Educational Foundation (NCEF) is looking for great stories of learning and life changing moments from those who have been inspired by one of our teachers! If you are a parent, alumni, community member or student, you are eligible to nominate a teacher.

Nomination forms are due: Tuesday, December 1, 2020
